I am having a not so pleasant three hour experience trying to set up simple cable and internet service for our soon to be new residence. I have called at least three different phone numbers and been redirected to different departments by at least five different people, all to finally be told that without a home phone line I cannot receive cable television or cable internet service. I don't exactly know why. Maybe it is a common sense concept that just isn't registering in my brain. (That happens you know.) But I honestly don't see the connection between cable television service and a home telephone number. You can't have cable without a phone? Surely the person I talked to who thought it was funny that I was trying to obtain the services without a phone number doesn't know his ass from a hole in the ground. Yet again I have been made to feel completely stupid. Can someone tell me why am I in charge of all of this moving business AGAIN? This is yet another valid reason to scrap the whole apartment living thing and just freaking "live in a van down by the river".
